Plastic and reconstructive surgery makes it possible to restore the natural beauty of the face and body, to correct the inherited or acquired with age defects of appearance, to feel comfortable.

In this section you will find information about the main plastic and reconstructive operations performed by Dr. Elena Koval.

You can get more detailed information about your surgery by consulting a doctor.

Face Surgery

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid plastic surgery (blepharoplasty) helps to eliminate hereditary features and age-related changes of the eyelids:

  • excess and overhang;
  • “hernial sacs” of the upper and lower eyelids;
  • ptosis (lowering) of the upper eyelid.
    After surgery, the look becomes open, the appearance – rested, younger.

This surgical intervention is carried out “on an outpatient basis” (the patient enters the clinic several hours before the operation and is discharged on the same day after several hours of postoperative follow-up) or with hospitalization up to one day.

Nose Surgery

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that allows you to correct the shape of your nose and eliminate congenital defects or consequences of injuries.

A common cause of rhinoplasty is a curvature of the nasal septum. Septoplasty (elimination of the curvature of the nasal septum) can be performed separately or combined with aesthetic correction of the nose.

The latest trends in aesthetic surgery of the nose is the use of the most benign surgical correction techniques that provide a short recovery postoperative period.

Lip Surgery

Surgical cheiloplasty – this operation is aimed at eliminating acquired and congenital defects of the lips, as well as for correcting the shape of the lips.

Indications for surgery:

  • too thin or full lips
  • lowered upper lip
  • asymmetrical lips
  • cysts and other neoplasms of the lips (with histological examination)
  • removal of a filler in the lips (with histological examination), etc.

Cheiloplasty performs on an outpatient basis under short-term local or general anesthesia. The sutures of the skin or mucous membranes of the lips are removed 5-7 days after surgery.

Face Recovery (Volume & Contour)

Over time, usually after 45 years, there are sagging tissues and decrease in the amount of adipose tissue on the face; there is a tired, “drawn” look, a clear face contour is lost, cheekbones are reduced, “circles under the eyes” appear.

Lipostructure (fat grafting)  – restoring and changing the volume of the face with the help of a transplant of its own adipose tissue – are used to eliminate such initial changes.

This operation allows you to return the lost volume to the face, a youthful appearance, and improve the quality of the skin.

The technique of operation is unique, thoroughly tested and gives excellent long-term results.

Surgical intervention is performed on an outpatient basis under short-term anesthesia, there are no sutures on the skin.

If the facial aging process is pronounced, Facelift (clinically known as rhytidectomy) is also performed. This operation is aimed at lifting facial tissues (with their fixation in a new position) and removing of excess skin.

This surgical intervention requires hospitalization for 1-3 days. Postoperative sutures are almost unvisible.

Neck Surgery

To solve the problem of aging of the neck a complex of surgical interventions is applied, which complement each other or are performed in isolation.

Liposuction – removal of excess fat of the neck.

Cervicoplasty – excision of the neck skin excess that results to lifting of tissues; it`s usually performed through the transverse sub-chin access in the skin fold.

Platysmaplasty (corset platysmaplasty) – elimination of flabbiness, sagging and discrepancies of platysma – the superficial muscle of the neck.

In result these surgical procedures it is possible to significantly improve the contour of the neck, to restore the chin-neck angle, to eliminate the sagging of the neck tissues.

Ears Surgery

Aesthetic surgery of the auricles (otoplasty) helps to eliminate congenital defects of the shape and size of the ear cartilage, to correct “protruding ears.”

Surgical intervention is carried out on an outpatient basis (the patient enters the clinic several hours before the operation and is discharged on the same day after several hours of postoperative observation). If the operation is performed on a child, hospitalization is performed the day before the operation, and the discharge is performed the next day after surgical treatment.

Breast Surgery

Breast Surgery

Aesthetic breast surgery helps to achieve the desired shape, size and appearance of the breast and get the feeling of complete personal satisfaction.

I specialize in the following types of breast surgery, which can be divided into three categories:

  • breast reduction (mammoplasty, lipoaspiration),
  • breast augmentation (breast implants, lipomodeling),
  • breast lifting (mastopexy, lipofilling),
  • breast reconstruction after oncological surgery (with or without protheses).

Every woman has her own reasons for thinking about breast surgery:

  • dissatisfaction with breast size (too big or too small),
  • breast reduction after drastic weight loss or breastfeeding,
  • asymmetric breasts,
  • consequences of oncological breast surgery, etc.

To solve these problems, I use various surgical techniques of reconstructive surgery and lipomodelage (fat grafting), well-developed protocols of operations, with a minimum recovery period and a predictable result.

I am a follower of the French school of reconstructive and plastic surgery, which is characterized by naturalness and moderation. All surgical techniques have been performed by me in surgical clinics in France (Paris, Leon).

We will discuss during our consultation possibilities of using these techniques for your breasts and predicted results.

“Radiological research confirmed that ultrasound, mammography and MRI can clearly distinguish adipose tissue and various questionable pathological changes; if additional clarification is necessary, a tissue biopsy can be performed. ” (Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 2009).

Body Surgery

Body Surgery

Abdomen (anterior abdominal wall)

Plastic surgery can solve the problem of sagging abdominal tissue and local excess fat. If necessary, the abdominal muscles lift and correction of the umbilical hernia can be performed.

Thin postoperative seams remain in the lower abdomen, horizontally above the pubis and / or around the navel (classical abdominoplasty), or in the crease under the breast (reverse abdominoplasty).

They can easily hide under the underwear or swimsuit.

Local fat

With local fat deposits (in the area of the anterior abdominal wall, thighs, and other areas) liposuction (lipoaspiration) is performed.

The technique of operation has been thoroughly tested and gives excellent long-term results.

Surgical intervention is performed on an outpatient basis under short-term anesthesia, there are no sutures on the skin.

Hands (sagging skin)

Surgery of hands (brachioplasty) is used to eliminate excess sagging skin on the inner surface of the shoulders.

Thin postoperative sutures are hardly noticeable.

Reconstructive surgery returns the damaged organs to their functionality and can partially or fully restore them in complete absence.

Reconstructive surgery  is considered the forerunner of modern plasty.

Reconstructive surgery solves the following problems:

  • restoration of the skin after suffering a physical injury or accident;
  • change of breast shape without implants (mammaplasty);
  • reconstruction of the breast (partial or complete) after oncological operations;
  • reconstruction of the face and body after burns (chemistry, toxic substances, current, etc.);
  • reconstruction of the face and body after oncological operations;
  • facial symmetrization after postponed neurological diseases (facial nerve paralysis);
  • removal of rough scars on the skin;
  • removal of benign skin lesions and soft tissue formations (atheromas, fibroids, lipomas, etc.);
  • removal of permanent (not absorbable) fillers in the skin and subcutaneous fat;
  • determination of the type of filer in soft tissues (biopsy for histological examination, analysis in the European laboratory);
  • elimination of the consequences of unsuccessful surgeries (both conventional and plastic), etc.

It is no secret that people who are dissatisfied with their appearance have a lot of complexes that negatively affect not only their self-esteem, but also the quality of life. Reconstructive surgery in this regard can save a person not only from health problems, but also eliminate some psychological problems.

Reconstructive surgery gives positive results in more than 95% of cases of surgical intervention.

Practical information

Your operation can be carried out both in Ukraine and in France.

Before surgery:

  • during the first consultation, I will give you recommendations regarding the volume and type of surgery based on the anatomical and functional characteristics of your body
  • laboratory tests and consultations of related specialists (if necessary) are performed 7-14 days before the operation
  • drug preparation for surgery (if necessary) is prescribed 3-7 days prior to surgical treatment
  • Anesthesiologist consultation is carried out 24-48 hours before hospitalization.

After operation:

  • postoperative sutures are little or completely invisible, in some cases surgical approaches do not leave any visible marks after surgery
  • after surgery there is usually no pronounced pain, a few days the swelling of the skin remains, there may be ecchymosis (bruising)
  • the stitches are removed 4–10 days after surgery (depending on the type of surgery); for a few weeks, small pinkish stitches can be seen, which can be easily masked by tonal means.
